It may be cold, wet and miserable for most of us in January but in the world of celebrity all that the first month of the year means is the perfect chance to get away and spend some time in the sun.

Naturally, this means stripping down to a bikini and basking in the rays as all their friends look at their post Christmas bellies and January detox plans and cry.

Take Rihanna for example, she recently spent time in her native Barbados and even Tweeted pictures of herself to her millions of fans. This is just not fair! We're here trying not to finish off that neverending tin of Roses and muster up the courage to actually attempt some New Year's resolutions and she's larking around in the sea looking amazing.

So, with that in mind, we thought why not punish ourselves properly and take a look at the Best Bikini Bodies of 2012 (so far).
