Michelle Keegan has opened up about her split with The Wanted’s Max George, and revealed that she is "in a much better place now".

Michelle, best known for her role as Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, got together with The Wanted star Max, back in 2010. The relationship was going well and Max popped the big question with a giant engagement ring which set him back £10,000.

However, due to band commitments, Max spent most of this year in the US which put a strain on the relationship and the couple called off their engagement in April.

Michelle, in an interview with Hello magazine said:

"Obviously it was a very sad time for us, as we were together for 19 months. But I got to think of it as 'I'm not the only girl who has ever had a break-up.'"

"The worst part for me was having the whole thing played out so publicly. In the end, I had to simply ignore the gossip and throw myself in my work."

"But eventually you just have to let things go and get on with life. I'm in a much better place now."

Since the split, Max’s ex-girlfriend Bobbi Aney has claimed she and the singer shared some sexy texts throughout his relationship with Michelle.
