Adele has been the victim of internet trolls on Twitter following the birth of her baby boy.

The birth of Adele’s son was revealed on Saturday night but within minutes the ‘Someone Like You’ singer was receiving vicious and threatening messages on her Twitter account.

A user named Vanessa Bieber wrote: “Aw Adele gave birth to a baby. Is it fat and handicapped lol? Just murder it already lol”.

Another wrote: “I’ll go and see her in the UK and kill her” whilst someone else retweeted this message and added: “And kill her baby”.

Other users wrote messages about how the 24-year-old singer would have more material if she suffered from post-natal depression, or if her son died. Others wrote that they hadn’t realised Adele was pregnant as she is overweight.

Adele is not the only celebrity to be sent bullying messages from anonymous trolls, Olympian diver Tom Daley had to involve the police after a Twitter user suggested his late father would have been ashamed of his performance at the London 2012 Olympics.

The singer is still yet to officially confirm the birth of her son but it was revealed on Saturday night that she had given birth the previous day.

According to a source quoted in The Daily Mail: “Adele and Simon are ecstatic at their new arrival. She was over the moon that they were expecting their first child together”.

The new mum’s collaborative partner, Dan Wilson told The Daily Mirror: “Adele has never been happier. We have exchanged a couple of emails. Adele is in a good place. I am concentrating on writing as many songs as I can”.

The ‘Skyfall’ singer will be missing the premiere of the new James Bond film to stay at home with her new arrival, a source told The Sun:

“Adele doesn’t want to leave her little boy’s side – it’s as simple as that. Now he’s here, she can’t bear heading out without him, even to hobnob with royalty”.
