One Direction star Zayn Malik has opened up about his relationship with Little Mix's Perrie Edwards, saying that they have a "trust and understanding".

The 'Live While We're Young' heartthrob and the X Factor winner have been dating for almost a year but in recent months, have been plagued by rumours of Zayn cheating.

However, Zayn says he and Perrie talked about the possibility of rumours and allegations being hurled at them once they went public and both agreed they were willing to take the risk.

"We had an understanding from the start," Zayn told Now! magazine.

"I told her, 'This is my job, this is what's going to happen, stories will come out. Do you still want to be with me?'"

"That was established from the start and after that it was about me and her," Zayn explained.

"Perrie has a lot of trust in me and I have a lot of trust in her. That's why it works. Our jobs are full-on every single hour of the day. She gets that because she has to do exactly the same thing."

Sounds like Zayn and Perrie have a good thing going!
