Rihanna's forthcoming album Unapologetic sounds a lot more unlifting than the previous six, with the singer describing the record as boasting "a spirit of hope."
The 24-year-old is currently putting the finishing touches to her seventh studio album and it seems fans can expect a slightly more mature sound from the singer, a contrast to her previous risque tracks.
"When people listen to my new album I want them to walk away with a spirit of hope," RiRi told Vogue magazine.
"A light spirit. That's the place I'm in and I want them to see that and I want them to feel that."
"I've gotten a lot more fearless, a lot freer and a lot more comfortable with who I am."
"I've started to infuse that in my fashion as well as my music," she continued.
The album's lead single 'Diamonds' topped the charts in the UK last week, making it RiRi's 16th top ten hit in the country.
