Two of music's fiercest females, Beyonce and Missy Elliott have reportedly teamed up in the studio to work on some new material together.
'Lose Control' rapper Missy Elliott confirmed the news of a collaboration between herself and the R&B superstar on social-networking site Twitter, after being probed by a curious fan.
When a follower asked Elliott if she played any tracks for Bey, the 41-year-old songwriter replied:
''@ItsMrKingz lol! Possibly ;) but it was great seeing her catching up because its been a while! Very inspired.''
The two musicians are said to have shared a studio session in New York on Friday, although it's unclear whether the new material will feature on Elliot or Bey's upcoming projects.
This certainly won't have been the first time the two ladies have teamed up, after Houston-native Knowles appeared on Misdemeanor's 2002 track 'Nothing Out There For Me,' as well as linking up on Fighting Temptations, Beyonce's 'Signs,' as well as a Destiny's Child track, 'Confessions'.
In terms of new music, Missy Elliott unveiled two new songs last month, '9th Inning' and 'Triple Threat,' and performed them live with her close pal and long-time collaborator Timbaland.
Meanwhile, Beyonce has kept her upcoming fifth solo album relatively under wraps, but it's rumoured that guest features may include Sia, One Republic front-man Ryan Tedder, Kanye West and the Cataracs.
