Leona Lewis has denied that she is dating One Direction's Liam Payne after reports surfaced that they had struck up a romance.

The 'Live While We're Young' hitmaker is said to have approached the former X Factor winner shortly after his split from girlfriend Danielle Peazer, as he has always had a crush on Leona.

Despite the reports of Liam and Leona and enjoying a series of dates, the 26-year-old singer denies the pair are dating, insisting to The Metro that she is still "single."

Leona split from her German dancer boyfriend, Dennis Jauch, 24, after two years of dating.

If the reports of a romance were true, it wouldn't be the first time a One Directioner has dated an older woman - Harry Styles famously enjoyed a fling with Xtra Factor judge Caroline Flack, while Zayn Malk was in a relationship with fellow X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson for a year.
