Katy Perry is reportedly planning on throwing a party to celebrate her recent divorce from comedian Russell Brand.

The 'Wide Awake' singer plans on marking what would have been her second wedding anniversary by celebrating with friends and having a day "of doing what she loves," a friend told The Sun.

Katy and Russell would have been celebrating their second wedding anniversary on October 23, however, the couple split earlier this year with a certain air of mystery surrounding them as Katy still refuses to speak about the split.

The 27-year-old hitmaker is said to be coinciding the 'divorce' party with her 28th birthday, which falls on October 25.

Katy is now dating singer-songwriter John Mayer whilst Russell has, as ever, been linked to a string of women inlcuding ex-Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell.
