Rihanna allegedly parted ways with a staggering $23,000 to sort out a hair crisis.

The Sun reports that the star flew her stylist across the Atlantic ocean from LA to London after getting into a pickle in a swimming pool.

A source said: "When she got out, her hair was tangled and matted. She slapped a load of conditioner on but it didn't get through the mass."

Panicking about her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, to be filmed the next day, the 'We Found Love' singer decided that stylist Ursula Stephen was the only woman for the job.

The insider added: "She didn't want to take the chance on an unknown. Because they were on such a tight schedule, they had to get her on the first flight. Rihanna didn't care about paying a fortune."

Sure enough, the star was pictured yesterday (February 29) in London wearing a black cap to hide her bonce.

"Rihanna shoved a hat on to go to the studios," the source explained. "She was fine when she knew Ursula was on her way."
