Simon Cowell and Epic Records boss LA Reid have vowed not to rush the debut single of X Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro.
The singer, who was mentored by Cowell on the show, landed a recording contract with the label as part of her prize.
"We're still recording Melanie," said Reid. "She's a very important and special artist because she's the winner, so it's very important we get it right and not rush it out for the sake of having it out.
"We want music that can stand the test of time. She's one of the greats and we want her recordings to reflect that."
Chris Rene, who polled third on the show under Reid's leadership, is in the process of releasing his material at the moment, whilst Marcus Canty's debut will follow in the next few weeks.
Astro, Rachel Crow and Josh Krajcik have also signed recording contracts.
Simon continued: "The only way you make a great record sometimes is by taking time. You have to find great material and direction for the artists. You can't just throw a record out there.
"We have made a commitment to them. We've invested a lot of money and we have to try to get these artists successful all over the world, that's when you know you have done your job properly. You want someone from the show representing America globally."
