Everybody loves a good catfight and we've been a little short on the ground of them lately. So, when Cher Lloyd mocked former mentor Cheryl Cole's dependence on miming, we got excited...

There was a time when Cheryl Cole and Cher Lloyd were inseparable. We call it The X Factor. During the show, when Cherly was mentoring the youngster, the pair seemed to share a special bond, helped on by the fact that Cher was the spitting image of her mother... er, we mean mentor. Cher was the spitting image of her mentor.

But things change when the cameras stop rolling...

Cher Lloyd, despite the fact that she only came fourth in the televised talent contest, has become something of a success in the music world. And she recently conducted an interview with Real Radio North West when the presenter asked her if she would ever perform with Cheryl Cole. And, instead of the gushing reply we all expected, Cher decided to taunt Cole on her inability to perform without Auto-Tune:

"Maybe, if she sings live with me... [it’s] always [a challenge] nowadays when you haven’t got the nifty little button to press"

Ouch! 

And if you thought Cheryl Cole wouldn't have noticed that little jibe, you'd be dead wrong. The Geordie lass took to Twitter to issue a stern warning to her former protégé:

“Be Careful who you kick on your way up .. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly ”

Oooh Cher, look. LOOK! She called you ugly... maybe you should respond? We think you should respond.

Ahem.

The pair have had a publicly difficult relationship since The X Factor ended, with Lloyd frustratedly retorting that she was "more likely to win the lottery" than to speak to Cheryl again.

Fingers crossed they can smooth this little argument ov... oh, who are we kidding? Get your claws out girls!
