Clearly sick of all the reconciliation rumours, Harry Styles has finally gone public with the reason behind his and Caroline Flack's split.

The floppy haired One Direction star has put an end to the rumours that he and Flack's relationship was back on, stating that the failed romance just "wasn't worth the hassle."

Harry Styles has spoken candidly about his failed relationship with older woman Caroline Flack, telling The People that the split was the fault of all those criticising the age-gap love affair:

"Other people didn't want it to work, in the end we decided to give up on it... It really was a serious relationship. But in the end it wasn't worth the hassle.”

No kidding! Caroline has received death threats and hate mail across all forums from livind One Direction fans, all of whom have slated the poor presenter for every reason possible, from her looks to her talent. We're guessing the 15 year age gap upset a few people but, thankfully, Flack has become something of an expert at turning the other cheek.

Harry, who recently turned 18, has previously hit out at reports that he 'dumped' his 32 year old girlfriend, saying that the pair came to a "mutual decision." Now the tabloids are suggesting that Harry's management put pressure on him to end his relationship with Caroline, over fears that it could damage his musical success.

So there we have it. The relationship is over, end of story. Now can we talk about something else? Please?
