The Grammy Awards are normally a night for celebration, but the sudden death of Whitney Houston added a sombre tone to proceedings...
As predicted by many, the sudden death of Whitney Houston completely transformed the Grammy schedule, as organisers quickly planned a fitting tribute to the pop icon.
And it was Jennifer Hudson's beautiful rendition of 'I Will Always Love You' that really got tears rolling down cheeks. She kept things stark, allowing her gospel-pop voice to add her own lift to the vocals, and really pushed herself to make sure she did the song justice.
The singer finished with an altered ending, paying her respects to Houston:
"Whitney, we love... we love you."
Unsurprisingly, Jennifer's voice cracked with emotion come the end of it all but, in a way, that raw touch of humanity was what made her performance so brilliant.
Check out her tribute...
