Is Madonna The Biggest Female Music Star Ever?
Tickets for Madonna’s Two UK stadium shows went on sale today at 10am and are expected to sell out quickly despite the astronomical prices.
The ‘Material Girl’ has been criticised for ticket prices with fans expected to cough up between £70 and £125 pounds.
According to The Sun the star is expected to make £5 million per show in the UK. The 53 year-old further angered fans last week when she made remarked that it was not actually that much money.
She said: “People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags."
But recession hit fans were less accepting of the price tag with one remarking on twitter: "All that cash to see someone lip sync? No thank you."
Madonna will perform at London’s Hyde Park on 17th of July and then at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on the 21st of July as part of her world tour that kicks off in Israel in May.
The queen of pop received mixed reviews for her energetic performance at last weekend’s Super Bowl and was even over shadowed by MIA who shocked viewers with her profanity laden performance.
