Lady Gaga: 'Born This Way Ball'
Lady Gaga has admitted that it was her ambition to be a singer that finally helped her beat bulimia.
The ‘Born This Way’ star has been vocal about her past struggles with the eating disorder and has now revealed that bulimia was ruining her voice while she fought the illness in High School.
According to The Huffington Post, the 25 year-old said: “It made my voice bad. So I had to stop.”
“The acid on your vocal chords, it's very bad but for those of you who don't sing, you maybe don't have that excuse until it's too late. It's very dangerous.”
The singer was speaking at a young women’s conference held at Brentwood School in Los Angeles. She confessed while her persona ‘Lady Gaga’ may seem outgoing and extrovert, she has not always been so comfortable in her body.
She said: “I used to throw up all the time in high school, so I'm not that confident."
“I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night.”
Lady Gaga announced the first details of her tour yesterday kicking off in South Asia next April.
