Russell Brand has reportedly identified Zooey Deschanel as the woman to help him get over his split from wife Katy Perry.

The long haired comedian might just be working on the basis that Zooey and Katy look quite similar but still, it is reported that Rusell is texting Zooey (who recently split from her husband Ben Gibbard) in an attempt to woo her.

"Russell has had his eye on Zooey for a long time," a source told OK!

Adding: "And he’s been sending funny, flirty texts to see if they can get together. He thinks she’s hysterically funny and cute too. He loves her quirky sense of humor and thinks they’d be great together both on and off screen. There’s a real spark there."

However, it might be all plain sailing for Rusell as the mag explains that Zooey, who was voted the world's most desirable woman this week, has, "heard about his reputation as a womanizer, and isn’t sure whether she’s ready to rush into another relationship so quickly.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed earlier today that Katy Perry will perform at this years Grammy Awards.
