Selena Gomez is set to shed her child star image in a new heist movie called Spring Breakers.

The 19-year-old actress come singer will arrive in Florida next month to begin shooting for the film.

The plot involves a group of college friends who decide to rob a bank during their spring break vacation.

Of her character, Selena told E! Online, "She goes on spring break with her girlfriends and they end up getting into a whole mess of things. They're partying and drinking. We end up in jail."

It all sounds very dangerous. Selena revealed, "I'm nervous. It's a little edgy, but it's fun. I fought for that role. I flew to Nashville and told him I want be a part of it."

The film also stars James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens. You'll have to wait a while to see Selena as a bank robber though. Spring Breakers is due out 2013.
