A top fashion show at Paris Fashion week that took inspiration from the late Amy Winehouse has been criticised by Amy's father Mitch.
As reported on PopDash yesterday, Jean Paul Gaultier dressed his models in Fred Perry style shirts with beehive hairstyles and exposed bra straps in an ill advised tribute to the singer, who passed away in 2011.
Mitch Winehouse, Amy's father, has accused Gaultier of cashing in on Amy's death and said the pictures came at the worst time for his family - the six month anniversary of her death.
"The family was upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock," Mitch told The Sun.
"We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six-month anniversary of Amy's death.
Adding: "No one asked us for permission or offered to make a donation to the foundation.
"To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on."
"We're proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste.
Jean Paul Gaultier is yet to comment on the row.
