Join us as we introduce you to the ten acts we think will be illuminating the pop world with their brilliant music, stunning performances and huge debut albums in 2012. Next up is Delilah, mixing timeless soul with the undisputed sounds of now.
With some artists it is the image which first draws you in, others it's their energy, style or personality. With Delilah though it's all about the voice.
Delicate yet with a rod of steel running throughout, this Paris born, London based star has already crashed her way into the charts with one of 2011's most unique and beguiling singles - the utterly infectious 'Go'. Low key and unshakeable, this was clearly the opening statement from a properly interesting artist and everything we have heard from Delilah since then has only confirmed our suspicions.
Having first made her name collaborating with Chase & Status, Delilah will take their dubstep template and combine her it with her love of soul, jazz and pop to deliver what could well be one of the years best debut albums. With a diary packed full of live shows to ever increasing audiences, 2012 looks set to be the year Delilah breaks out of her shell and establishes herself as one of the leading female artists the UK has to offer.
Plus, and this makes us love her more than anything, her real name is actually Paloma but she is borrowing Delilah from her Grandmother because, as she says, "Paloma Faith is already borrowing my name."
