Grime scene pioneer, Dizzee Rascal, reveals he likes being a mainstream pop star.
The Boy In Da Corner insists he wasn't pushed into making the pop-sounding Tongue N' Cheek album but did did it for the enjoyment of making records.
Rascal told Radio 1's Zane Lowe, "I think some people think that I was pressured into it but it was my choice. I like making big pop records. It was something I wanted to try my hand at."
Earlier this week Dizzee released free a new mixtape which has less of a pop sound to it but that's not to say we won't be hearing more club bangers from the MC in the future.
The 'Fix Up, Look Sharp' rapper added, "When I did 'Dance Wiv Me', 'Bonkers' and 'Holiday' it was all experimental, that was all I wanted to do, and it's worked, so I don't see any reason not to do it."
Another mixtape, an album and a tour are all part of Dizzee's plans for 2012.
