Ke$ha has said that she hopes to revive the fortunes of rock music through her own pop songs when she returns with a new album this year.
Guitar bands have struggled in recent years as the unstoppable rise of electronic pop music pushes them further and further down the charts. However, Ke$ha believes that she can take the spirit of rock'n'roll and put it back on top.
“People say that rock and roll is dead, and it is my mission and my goal to resurrect it in the form of my pop music," the 'Tik Tok' star told MTV News.
Discussing her next album, the follow up to 'Cannibal', Ke$ha also revealed that she will be revealing new depths that she has previously kept hidden.
"I think that my first record was heavily influenced by Licensed to Ill and the Beastie Boys and that record is, like, very brash and very sassy and very unapologetic and irreverent. I very much want to be seen as a strong woman, but I realize that vulnerability can also be a strength. So on my next record, you are going to hear probably a little more of that.”
Ke$ha's new album is pencilled in for release in May 2012.
