Lady Gaga is suing a US cosmetics company for trying to trademark her name.
Excite Worldwide LLC tried to trademark the names 'Lady Gaga' and 'Lady Gaga LG' for its makeup and jewellery range without seeking the Born this Way singer's permission.
US Patent and Trademark Office records show the company's applications have not been approved, however, Gaga claims they are affecting the development of her own range of products, which will obviously carry her name.
Excite Worldwide has so far refused to respond to phonecalls and has issued no statements about the allergations.
Gaga is seeking “unspecified damages”, claiming customers could be duped into thinking she's affiliated with Excite Worldwide's product ranges.
Meanwhile, it was revealed today Lady Gaga's next single, the fifth from her 'Born This Way' album, will be 'Marry the Night'.
