Although we were just discussing odds on Coldplay replacing U2 at Glasto, the decision has been made for Gorillaz to headline the Friday night of the festival.
The virtual pop band will be projected onto the stage, possibly creating the only visual spectacle bigger than Bono's ego.
Michael Eavis, the festival's organiser confirmed: "This is going to be Gorillaz' only UK festival appearance. Gorillaz will now top the bill on the festival's first night on 25 June.
"It'll be a massive audio visual spectacle which will really ignite the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night, with Muse, then Stevie Wonder to follow."
The gig will be the band's only UK festival 'appearance', and the consecutive year that a Damon Albarn project has headlined the event: last year his band Blur took this slot.
What do you make to that? Do you think the band's set can be scribbled down in time?
