Matt Cardle has spoke about his upcoming debut album, revealing that he has been influenced by heavy metal bands as well as Michael Jackson whilst in the studio.
Last years X Factor winner Matt will release his album later on this year and says that the album will have anthemic moments alongside more acoustic and stripped back parts. Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, he said:
"There's some anthemic stuff in there, there's some very upbeat stuff, there's some stripped back soulful stuff in there. It's real. For me to get my head together and get in the studio and get my inspiration back on track and start writing the album has been great."
Adding: "My inspiration is everything I've ever listened to; Michael Jackson, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Dave Matthews band.
"The album is due at the end of the summer, it's going really well, it's the kind of tracks I wanted to be writing."
