Cheryl Cole has begun renting a property in London, it has been reported today.

The Sun claims that Cheryl is renting a mansion in the suburbs of London at a cost of £3,500 a week.

The move throws her future with Derek Hough into doubt as the pair were meant to be sharing a Los Angeles apartment together. At opposite sides of the Atlantic it would seem the on-off relationship is definitely off for the time being.

Cheryl's plans to move to America, possibly for a role on X Factor USA, are still in place however with the London property acting as a temporary measure.

"She's renting for now because her life is so hectic she doesn't have the time to find somewhere to buy," a source told the paper. "The house is handy for London, where most of her meetings take place."
