Labrinth believes that the MOBO Awards have lost its purpose with acts such as Ed Sheeran and Conor Maynard being nominated for awards.

The 'Beneath Your Beautiful' singer says that the awards have chosen some artists for nominations who do not fit into the 'music of black origin' category.
"I think it is a bit weird because Ed Sheeran doesn't make black music, and neither does Conor Maynard - he makes commercial pop," Labrinth told the Daily Star.
Labrinth - who has been nominated for three awards himself - admits that he too makes commercial music but says it has more of a right to be included than the pop artists.
"Even I'm not making black music. It's commercial music, but at least it is more related to hip-hop so it makes more sense," the singer admitted.
"I don't think it should be called Music Of Black Origin anymore. It should be Music Of Urban Original, or just Music Awards."
Do you agree with Labrinth? Has the MOBOs gone downhill?
